Iowa City is a vibrant, cultured university town nestled among the gently rolling hills of Eastern Iowa, and close to the cozy, traditionally Mennonite community of Kalona, Iowa. Home to the University of Iowa, Iowa City is a small town with big city amenities, including a rich arts and entertainment environment and excellent health care. We have excellent school systems and a strong, diverse economy.
Iowa City is the only North American city named by UNESCO as a City of Literature. Recently, Fortune media ranked Iowa city #17 in Best Places to Live for Families. Iowa City was ranked in the top 100 places to live in 2023 according to Livability.com, but that's only one of the "Best of" lists we've landed on-- there are many more!
